Draw Room with X, Y, Z Coordinates |
 |
The EASE and EASE JR 3D modeling
program is based upon the well known X, Y, Z Coordinate system
which identifies each point’s location relative to a
0, 0, 0 reference point.
Even those unfamiliar with the X,Y,Z Coordinate system will
find that becoming adept with its use is a snap with EASE
and EASE JR because of their outstanding graphic capabilities
and wide array of modeling tools. An X, Y, Z Icon identifies
the 0, 0, 0 point and green, red and blue lines indicate the
positive X, Y, Z directions. Split Screens, Snap-To-Grids,
Turn, Rotate, Zoom and Drag commands allow the user to view
the room from any angle and contribute to the programs ease
of use.
Modeling tools include Duplicate, Displace (move) and Extrude
commands. Other commands allow linear or curved loudspeaker
arrays to be quickly and easily added to the room. |

| In the normal 3-D view shown on
the left, note the X, Y, Z icon. In the split screen view shown
on the right, notice the X, Y, Z Views and Grids. |
The EASE 3D modeling program
also includes a Symmetry mode. When it is turned on, items
entered on one side of the room are automatically entered
into the other side of the room. In many rooms this feature
cuts the modeling time in half. You only have to model _ the
room, EASE does the other half.
The models are built in much the same fashion actual rooms
are built, point-by-point and face-by-face until the room
is completed. Typically the floor is modeled first and then
the walls are added, quite often by simply extruding the edges
of the floor upward. The ceiling or roof usually is added
last. Architectural details, such as doors and windows, are
then added if desired.
A 100 page Tutorial is supplied with the program and guides
new users through the modeling process step-by-step, while
explaining the various approaches and short cuts that are
available. |
