“Furthermore, when they requested us to move the main plenary in a much larger hall and then back again in a smaller room, I was thankful on their flexible design to convert them from long throw to near field “medium actually” configurations. Their design proves to be both accurate and articulate and dead simple to move around and tailor to any given situation. I’m convinced you have a winning product on your hands.”

The festival is unique in that it owns its own production company – Molde Forum – which was formed 17 years ago and today operates as a full-time rental/production company as well as servicing the festival. Molde Forum’s STLA/9 high power line array served the event’s main 10,000 capacity open air Romsdalsmuseet amphitheater, which hosted the headliners in a beautifully idyllic setting ringed by snow-capped mountains.

“The great advantage of this speaker is that it has a very precise vertical opening angle, so there’s no feedback even if a singer is standing close to the column. The other unique thing about these columns is that they’re very warm-sounding; usually columns sound like columns but this is a music loudspeaker.”

“The inconspicuousness and elegance of the columns is a great bonus for visually sensitive productions, and the system’s long throw means that in most cases no delay speakers are needed. As well as meetings, press conferences and presentations, live music such as jazz ensembles are projected highly transparently, elegantly and right to the last seat.”

"The Renkus-Heinz
surround sound quality was amazing! No production that I can
remember ever sounded as good as Perpetual Groove's last show
here. Dave Matthews Band, Phish, Widespread Panic, Hootie
And The Blowfish, Kid Rock and many, many more, this was the
crispest sounding show I have ever seen at Ziggy's! In my
book P Groove has surpassed other acts with this new concept.
I think this may well be the future of sound systems". - Mark Bloomfield, Ziggy's, Winston-Salem, NC.

When Tesla decided to get back on the road, they only needed to make one phone call, to Steve Emler, head of their long-time sound company, Okie Brothers of Fresno, California. Emler has been the band’s production manager and front-of-house engineer for “a long time. I basically came out of retirement to do this tour, and when Tesla’s done, I’m done,” he says. In keeping with the band’s music, the back line is relatively uncomplicated.

“It
was clear that our PA choices were either a delayed system
or making our new Renkus-Heinz PN102LA line array work in
there,” says Molde Forum managing
director Jo-Tore Bæverfjord. “Line
arrays tend to work best in flat–floored, rectangular
spaces, and we were concerned about how it would handle the
steeply inclined audience area.”

Andy comments: “Renkus-Heinz has long been known
for a combination of clarity and high power, and the system
works extremely well for this band, with such a rich, complex
mix and a very wide range of dynamics from solo harpsichord
and blues vocals to the whole band in full flight. Even better,
it works just as well for us in the Royal Albert Hall as it
does on outdoor shows in the summer.”

The company recently purchased a Renkus-Heinz
PN102/LA self--powered, compact line array system, which
was used for the festival's 900-seat Concert Hall venue and
several outdoor performances. A larger STLA/9 high power line array served the event's main 10.000 capacity
open air amphitheatre located at the local folk museum. This
hosted the Stevie Wonder concert and pop/techno/rap
line-up on the festival's last day.
