“The owner was very specific about wanting a system with a really low
physical profile, good dispersion and being capable of effectively providing both low level
background and higher level foreground music. It’s not a nightclub environment and never
becomes loud, because the pub is all about fine dining, but it is located in the Wall Street area
and post-work there’s a slightly different ambience than during the fine dining lunchtime periods."

“The aft pool deck and the mid-ship pool are outdoors, so we definitely needed something with
reliable weatherization,” Edwards explains. “The discrete profile of the cabinets helps us
integrate them into the overall look and feel of the pool decks, and so does the rotatable horn,
which gives us the mounting flexibility we need to fit everything into the limited space available.”

“The actors with microphones are able to move freely through the train car with no feedback from the speakers. The sonic experience overwhelmed the Essex Steam Train staff when we presented the finished project. It really does provide visitors with a uniquely entertaining experience.”

“They're ideally suited for a project like this,” continues Northwood, “a nice compact little box that's quite unobtrusive. We had to work from the walls, so at that point you want something that gives you as much of a fighting chance as possible, and having arrays that are steerable gave us a lot more control to play with. Each speaker effectively covers its own quadrant of the room, but the pair opposite the entrance passage are a little more centered to feed down into a corridor where the main bar is located – it’s great to have that kind of focusing precision within each cabinet.”

The front of house system for the main stage is a line array system, a pair of Renkus-Heinz Iconyx IC24 systems mounted just outside the proscenium with two Renkus-Heinz PN112 subwoofers. This system isn't really used as much for concerts, as most touring acts bring in their own systems or use local rentals, but they are perfect for large corporate events that utilize the entire space, and of course can be used for entertainment that is not touring with their own system.

Because the loudspeakers are designed to be heard and not seen, so when the managers of Eleven Madison Park entered the restaurant following the sound system installation and heard the music for the first time, their first question was “wow, sounds great, but where are the speakers?”. And that’s precisely how the nature of sound was intended – cherished unseen.

"Why Renkus-Heinz?" - asks Bigas. "Fidelity, really, and they were really cool
with us, which kind of helps. We needed specific ohmage, specific
boxes, not just off the shelf solutions: and everything we
asked, they did. One of us (at N1 Custom) is still a live
sound engineer, and we know that everything out there is pretty
good these days - no one makes anything that sucks.

One of the owners, who is also La Villa's manager, did actually
listen to Renkus-Heinz and his decision was made quickly.
The other owners gave him virtually ‘carte blanche’,
relying on his expertise and his insistence on details from
design down to the choice of cables and interconnects. Most
important, although the club SPL level can reach up to very
high levels, you never feel any ear fatigue at all.”

The, 700 seated, main multipurpose theatre incorporates a
moving stage, retractable seating area and full electronically
support for TV, Radio, Interpretation, Audio and Video. The
sound system was carefully chosen and based around the Renkus-Heinz
CT-Range. In installations like this, the CoEntrant
technology and the ComplexConicHorn topology have
once again proven to be superior in an application such as
the Conference center in Bressanone.
